Fakes

Photobucket

Yes, yes, it's a fake.

I use to think fakes shouldn't be allowed to exist, not just because of unethical reasons, but also because it just disgusted me. It's a cheap replica and I just would not touch them with a 10 foot pole.

Well, it'd be okay if they didn't have the brand name on it, but that'd be called a dupe, wouldn't it?

But lately, I've been seeing everyone carrying around unauthentic pieces and they are actually happy with them.

And it made me realise - I'm only 18, I don't have a job and my only income is on $200 a fortnight (which is not enough, mind you).

And then I thought, what the heck? I'm never going to be able to save up a couple of grand 'til I'm 30. Why not just live my life as a cheap-ass of an adolescent?!

Then a $40 bag on eBay came sprawling past, and I found myself bidding frantically just to win a "cheap replica". And I won. Then I realised what I had done and I saw a welcoming bright light coming from the Road of Fakes.

But I'll probably still be self-conscious while carrying this bag around. I mean, I know everyone will be asking me, "Is that real?!" and then I'd reply with a chuckle, "No, I wish!". And we'd both laugh it off while in the back of my head, I'm thinking of burning the bag and burying myself alive.

Ahh, only time will tell.

But hey, it looks pretty good doesn't it? :D

NYX Round Lipsticks

Guess what came in the mail today?!

I purchased 11 and already owned 3.

I ordered these off Cherryculture for USD $1.75 each, which is very cheap considering how good they are.

However shipping & handling costs increases as you order more.
Buying one lipstick, would cost USD $9.07 for the shipping method of USPS 1st class international mail (no tracking), so I would recommend getting quite a few to get your money's worth.

After ordering from the site twice, I can say they are pretty reliable. Both orders took 3 weeks to arrive which is quite long, but I guess it's worth the wait.

Pros:
- inexpensive at USD $1.75
- smooth and creamy
- pigmented
- moisturizing
- has a clear plastic bottom which enables you to see the colour
- cute packaging
- big shade selection
- comes in matte & shimmers

Cons:
- some have a faint chemically taste/smell
- staying power is not that outstanding
- can emphasize chapped/peeled lips

Overall, I really like these and I'm planning to buy more soon!

But if you do plan to order from cherryculture, be careful of the colour swatches because the majority of them are wrong.
So you should research on the colours first through reviews on websites or Youtube before ordering any!

120 vs. 88 Palette

Got another package today!

Photobucket
88 Eyeshadow Palette

Photobucket

This is a little similar to this other palette I bought a few months ago:

Photobucket
120 Manly Eyeshadow Palette

Photobucket

So I decided to compare the two:

Photobucket
88 Palette vs. 120 Palette

Some of the swatches WITHOUT base:

I haven't worn the 88 Palette yet so I don't know about the staying power, but I'll add it in later.

120 Manly Palette
Pros
- smaller size
- inexpensive - $30
- more pans
- more variety of colourful shadows
- shimmers and mattes
- pans are slightly larger
- pretty pigmented with one application

Cons
- can only be purchased through eBay
- fallout
- some colours are chalky
- some colours do not give good payoff
- palette case is prone to getting fingerprints

88 Palette
Pros
- more cheaper - $15
- unique colours
- more neutrals
- includes shimmers, satins & mattes
- has a mirror
- comes with 2 sponge applicators

Cons
- can only be purchased off eBay
- most colours have poor pigmentation
- chalky
- palette case is prone to getting fingerprints
- one of the pans fell out as I opened it

Verdict:
Basically, both palettes have shadows that are hit and miss.
It's inexpensive so you get what you pay for.

But overall, I think I'll be using the 120 palette more often and the 88 palette for the unique colours.

These were from Jullia:

Meet Snowball

The toy is soo cute! Can't believe she made it. And I'm pretty happy with the brushes. I want to collect a massive load of them at the moment.

Went to DFO on the weekends with a few friends to buy a gift for my friend's upcoming 18th. Can't say what it is just yet 'cos she might read my blog.

I got myself a few things too:

Photobucket
Batman, Elmo & Superman underwear from Bras 'N Things

Photobucket
Cotton On tee

This shirt is a V-Day present for Adam, but I gave it to him once I got to his house that day. I couldn't wait 'til next week lol.

Anyway, there were these two pairs of boots I really, really, and I mean REALLY, wanted at Table 8 in DFO.
But one of them didn't have my size so I was planning to buy the other one.
But just as I went to withdraw money, I realised I forgot my keycard!
I know... how can I forget my keycard when I go shopping?!
So hopefully it'll still be there when I go back.
Sigh, I love DFO ♥.

Storage

My tiny dresser is overloaded with so much crap.

Plus a heap of more things hidden away

I really need to get storage compartments, but I haven't seen any so far.
Here's a few storage ideas I like (found in google images & blogs):

Photobucket
I don't think I would have room for all this in my room lol.

Photobucket
My mom uses these storage cabinets.
They're really convenient cos they can be wheeled around.
But I don't think there's any room for these -_-"

Photobucket
That tray thing is really smart.

Photobucket
Storage container + glass bowls please

Photobucket
Glass cups/bowls!

Photobucket
X-Cubes + glass bowl + pantry organiser!

Now I just need to go on a search for'em.
